For sale is my 1966 XLCH Sportster.
This is no reserve so be sure you are ready to buy it if you bid.
I am at the time in life where I need to downsize and this bike is regrettable for sale.
It is basically a one owner bike.
I was told the bike sold new at Swede’s Harley-Davidson in Hutchinson Ks in 1966 and was purchased by the second owner in 1969.
I acquired the bike from the estate of that person a few years ago.
I have owned several Ironhead Sportsters and this is by far the most correct and unmolested one I have owned.
It still has the original gauges, steering damper, and electric condenser.
When I purchased it the fenders were bobbed as was the custom in the late 60,s it had an orange metalflake paint job, nonoriginal handlebars, and custom seat.
The bike was disassembled down to the bare frame and motor.
Then put back together with new original style and color paint and parts as needed.
A new swing arm kit was installed, new reproduction cloth wiring harness, new Buchanan stainless spokes on both wheels, new reproduction pogo solo seat, new exhaust, and new reproduction fenders.
Is has NOS Harley handle bars and rear exhaust header pipe.
I have only been able to start the bike three times and it is hard to start mainly due to the magneto.
It was last started about a year ago and I have a short video of it running.
I know nothing of the condition of the motor or transmission and have not ridden the bike so can’t speak for its drivability or mechanical condition.
I hooked a battery up to the bike and the lights and horn worked.
The paint is very nice but has a slight blemish on the right front of the tank in the white paint and a couple of imperfections in the rear fender ( see pics ).
I will not ship but can assist in loading or shipping.  It has a clear Kansas antique title.  As stated in listing a $500 deposit is required and the remainder as cash or cashers check.  If you are in the Lawrence Ks area contact me to come see the bike.
Thanks
